Central Petaluma Specific Plan EIR for the City of Petaluma

Wagstaff and Associates recently completed this comprehensive EIR for a proposed central area specific plan. The specific plan was formulated to foster revitalization of the Petaluma downtown with more emphasis on higher-intensity mixed use development near the central area's transit hub, and to guide future land use planning and urban design in the 400-acre Petaluma core area adjacent to the Petaluma River. Areas of concern addressed by the EIR included potential effects of the plan on the city's valued central area visual and historic character, impacts of increased vehicular trip internalization, and other traffic and parking impacts.
